Life Coach Accreditation

Life coaching has become a profession demanded by most people who want to achieve the best in their lives. A life coach acts as a consultant or a mentor who helps an individual realize his capabilities and use them to bring out his maximum potential and in turn live an extraordinary life leading to the attainment of his personal success. Coaching involves assisting the individual in the formulation of clear and achievable goals and making sure that the person focuses and sticks to fulfilling those aspirations. Coaching does not center on the analysis of an individual’s past experiences or on finding ways to prevail over previous failures and issues; rather it focuses on effecting a transformation on the person’s present conduct to bring about a successful future.

Becoming a life coach requires passion and eagerness to help people. It is important to have enthusiasm and dedication in assisting other individuals to realize their maximum internal potential and patiently provide guidance towards the achievement of personal goals and aspirations. The life coach has to determine whether he is a reliable person who lives the values he teaches and is experiencing the personal success he inspires. In addition, a fine life coach has to be an excellent listener and good communicator. Furthermore, a life coach should have the willingness and modesty to continually learn even from the people he coached.

Developing skills and becoming an effective life coach entails knowledge on courses related to sociology, psychology, and constructive adult development. Trainings on mentoring, career counseling, and leadership training would also be of great help. Some of these courses relevant to life coaching can be expensive; however, those who cannot afford the fee may avail of scholarships offered by some companies as long as they are qualified and have the dedication to become a life coach.

Many institutions have offered life coaching courses due to its rising demand. Some life coaching schools have even made short courses and made it available online to give easier access to life coach hopefuls. These online life coaching schools offer quality programs for people who are self-motivated and have the desire to be certified. Even with these available courses, there are life coaches who do not have the quality and commitment that clients seek. Because of this, finding clients can be difficult because they now seek proven experience and credibility. It would then be very helpful to seek a life coach accreditation from trustworthy institutions. An important characteristic that people seek in a life coach is reliability. They choose are those coaches they can trust and be comfortable with.

Being a life coach is not a profession that can be taken for granted. It is vocation that demands commitment and passion because it has the opportunity to change a common life into an extraordinary one.

Becoming A Life Coach

Life coaching is the task of assisting a client to achieve future goals or ambitions they have set for themselves. Life coaching disciplines were developed from a multitude of techniques based in many different areas of schooling from career, psychological or life oriented fields, some of which include, but are not limited to, sociology, life development, career counseling, and mentoring. Studying behavioral modification can also be very helpful if you’re becoming a life coach.

A successful Life Coach assists their subject in developing attainable life or career goals by applying value assessments techniques and helping the subject develop a strategy to reach these set goals successfully. To help you determine what goals you most desire, and help you to prioritize these goals, a life skills coach will begin by asking you specific questions geared toward honing in on which goals are most important to you and which ones you may be most successful at fulfilling.

These same questions will also help the Life Coach assess other ideals as well, such as what activities are most draining on your energy levels, which take up the most time in your day to day life, and which goals may require the most amount of life adjustment to accomplish. This will assist the Life Coach in establishing the hierarchy for your goals, and creating the life regime in which you will find the most success by diverting energy from some areas of your life in which you may over compensate, to areas which could use more attention and in which you may feel a greater sense of fulfillment.

For example, if you feel you would like to spend more time with your children, your Life Coach will assess other areas of your life, such as time spent on your career, or personal time, and work with you to draw time and energy from different areas of your life and create a plan in which this time can best be applied to maximize your time with your children. Or, on the reverse spectrum, if you are developing a business from home, and would like figure out how to make more time to focus on creating and establishing your business, but you feel your family responsibilities require the majority of your time, then a Life Coach can be a useful tool in determining how to successfully divert time from your family to focus on your new business, while maintaining a level of satisfaction (or even increasing your level of satisfaction) in both areas.

A good Life Coach knows that such a strategy requires considering the persons’ over all lifestyle, living habits, and personal needs. A successful strategy must be tailored to meet each individuals’ needs in order to ensure the client reaches their goals. Each increment of success is a key factor in maintaining a client’s confidence in themselves and what they are trying to achieve. They must believe that what they are trying to obtain is both worth while and and attainable; a good personal life coach will not only be able to instill these beliefs in their client, but also encourage them through their journey.

Life coaching jobs are best found through recommendations from former clients. Once you’ve worked with 1-2 clients, ask them if they know someone who would benefit from your help.

Although there is no regulatory standard required regarding schooling, many life coaching schools now offer different training programs or certifications that would assist in building a successful and marketable career in Life Coaching. In addition to the suggested afore mentioned schooling certifications available [sociology, life development, career counseling, and mentoring], other useful certifications for an individual considering the field of Life Coaching may also include psychology, positive adult development, and management consulting.
